Nanaimo - Departure Bay Beach
Mostly a walk along the Departure Bay shore yields shells, rocks, or tires (Yes tires. More than you'd imagine.). But rarely bicycles. On this day however, there it was: a rusty bike. <CLICK!>
Sidney Spit - Sundry Beach Stuff
For years, Sidney Spit was on my list of parks to visit. On this particular occasion, I was in Victoria with Barb. What a terrific opportunity to take the small ferry from the town of Sidney, over to Sidney Spit. The weather wasn't ideal, but the drizzle didn't prohibit us from strolling along the sandy spit.

Alberni Valley - Pulley at the McLean Steam Sawmill
With Ewald and Rosie visiting, we drove out to the Stamp River to watch the September salmon run (quite exciting and a pleasant walk at the Provincial Park). On our way home, we stopped off at the historic McLean Steam Sawmill. Always good for picture-taking.
